Dr. Marissa Jablonski, PhD. in an accomplished water engineer, environmental advisor and plastics-reduction expert who has worked in more than 45 countries on Earth. She is the Executive Director of the Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin and an Adjunct Professor at the School of Freshwater Sciences.
The Freshwater Collaborative education and research model brings together six stakeholder groups: water and ecosystems, community and tribal nations, local and state government, non-profits and associations, companies and industry, and academics. They have funded six PFAS projects to date that engage multiple universities across the state. Dr. Marissa Jablonski will discuss these projects as well as the environmental impact you can have as a consumer and voter.
"It's only after you change your own actions that you can influence your families and then your neighborhoods, and then your workplace, and then your city, your state, your country, and the world."
Representatives from Mequon Nature Preserve and Canned Water for Kids (CW4K) will also speak briefly about their mission and vision for the future.
A guided nature walk through the Preserve will follow the box lunch.
