Description
"Feminine Forerunners of Cedarburg" explores the earlier contributions of four artists who were born between 1910 and 1922 and whose artistic achievements paved the way for the next generation of women artists in the area. Josephine Ainsworth, Violette Jahnke and Dorothy Zaun were painters in oil, watercolor or pastel. Lillian Rammel's sculptural works are in welded metal, clay or mixed media.
Works for the Cedarburg Art Museum Collection of award-winning Best of Show paintings from earlier Cedarburg Plein Air Events are on display on the second level of the museum.
